Gov. Greg Abbott has requested $40 million for GURI, a program that aims to lure top researchers to Texas universities. On Monday, Gov. Bathroom bill passes to full Senate.

After more than thirteen hours of testimony, the Senate State Affairs Committee voted early Wednesday morning to advance Senate Bill 6 by Sen. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham), the so-called “bathroom bill,” to the full Senate. The vote was 7-1, with Sen. Judith Zaffirini (D-Laredo) voting against. To read more…
